Ayrshire SpringTour

2011 SPECIAL OFFER TOURS

Ayrshire Tour

Day 1

Arrive at Edinburgh Airport where you will be met by your driver and escorted to The Marine Hotel in Troon for three nights on a bed and breakfast basis and play on three of the Open qualifying courses.

The Marine Hotel has a wonderful location overlooking the world famous Royal Troon Golf Course with breathtaking views over the Firth of Clyde to Arran.  The hotel boasts 89 refurbished ensuite bedrooms including 12 deluxe rooms.  The Fairways restaurant overlooks the golf course which offers excellent fresh produce by an award winning chef.  Facilities include swimming pool, spa bath, sauna, steam room, squash courts and gym.

Day 2 - Play St Nicholas course in Prestwick

This traditional Scottish links course was created on the shores of the Firth of Clyde resulting in golfers being able to admire the truly stunning scenery of the Ayrshire coast.  Due to its proximity to the shoreline, an almost ever ?present wind ensures that the course provides a good test of golfing ability.

Day 3 - Play Irvine Golf Club.

Bogside has been established for over 100years.  This course provides a challenge to all with its subtle changes in direction and no two holes the same, with the greens being fast and true.  The neighbouring Golf Steam ensures year round golf of the highest quality.

Royal TroonDay 4 - Play Barassie Golf Course

On the outskirts of Troon, this course offers golfers a magnificent links golfing challenge.  Barassie has a well deserved reputation for some of the best maintained greens in Scotland.

Gailes Experience

Day 1

Arrive at either Prestwick or Glasgow International Airport and be escorted to the Gailes Hotel with its boutique feel and four star rooms featuring plasma screens, internet access and warm decor ensuring the bedrooms are a home from home luxury.

Day Two - Play Western Gailes Golf Course

Western Gailes Golf Club lies between Irvine Bay and the railway on Ayrshire's prodigious stretch of links coastline. Formed in 1897, the Club has hosted a number of prestigious tournaments and is used for final qualifying when the Open is played at Turnberry or Royal Troon.

Day Three - Play Glasgow Gailes Golf Course

Glasgow Gailes course designer, former Open Championship winner, Willie Park always believed this links to be one of his best creations. The classic layout is tough, fair and traditionally Scottish. Sandy Lyle, former Open and Masters Champion describes the course as ?one of the world?s truly great tests of links golf? and it has been selected by the R&A as a final qualifying venue for The Open Championship every time it has been at Royal Troon and Turnberry.

Dundonald LinksDay Four -  Play Dundonald Links

Designed by the highly respected golf course architect Kyle Phillips, best known in the UK for Kingsbarns and The Grove, the 7,100-yard, par 72 course and is recognised as one of Europe?s "must play? new links courses.

Troon Package

Day One 

Arrive at either Prestwick or Glasgow International Airport where you will be met by your driver and escorted to South Beach Hotel for three nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The South Beach Hotel is a privately owned hotel, ideally situated within short walking distance of the package courses and facing onto the sea front with it's sandy beaches.

Day Two - Play Darley Course, Troon

Darley is a true links as in the wildcat variety. It abounds with the renowned Scottish hazards of heather, gorse and whin. It is a tough test of golf, demanding the most accurate of drives.

Day Three: Play Fullarton Course, Troon

Proponents of the "short game" particularly enjoy playing Fullarton. At slightly less than 5,000 yards, Fullarton provides endless enjoyment for golfers of more modest ability. But don't relax, with deceptively tight and testing greens here is where to sharpen up your game.

Lochgreen CourseDay Four: Play Lochgreen Course, Troon

Although Lochgreen is predominately a links type course, the layout is truly varied, with one stretch - known as the ?Dovecot Section? - providing holes of a more parkland type character. The course has several holes that are reminiscent of its royal neighbour and one hole in particular - the fifth - would do justice to any championship test.
