Various design changes to the course were made in 2006 with the aim of establishing The Mongomery (previous The Blue Course) as the Senior of the two courses. By almost universal agreement, the 19 new bunkers, 4 new white tees and the new pond, introduced last season, have enhanced what was already an excellent layout and it is now a test of golf that makes you think before every shot and where you walk off the 18th green having been afforded the opportunity of playing every club in your bag.
Following the construction of new Ladies' tees which served to reduce the yardage by about 250 yards, the Scottish Ladies Golf Association has reduced the standard scratch from 75 to a less daunting 73.
